Pastor Don Clayborn

My name is Donald Clayborn, and I am the Associate Pastor at Lancaster First Assembly. I was born in Lincoln County, Highland, Kentucky. I am the youngest of ten brothers and sisters. I grew up on a small farm and found out how to work hard at an early age.

When I started driving I began attending Highland Methodist Church. At 17 I received Jesus. Shortly after, I met my wife to be, Janet. The churches we attended were small, and had the same pastor, so the youth groups were combined. We did most of our courting at youth group or at her house. We were married in 1968. I had spent a year in Vietnam, and had a few months left in the service after we were married. After getting out of the army, we moved to Louisville and started attending an Assemblies of God church. We both received the baptism of the Holy Spirit at that time.

We attended Good Shepherd for a number of years, and I was a pastor at Calvary Bible Church for four years. I was ordained by the Assemblies in 1976. We went back to Good Shepherd for about six months, and then felt the call to move to Lancaster, Kentucky, to be a part of the work here. We were charter members of First Assembly, and I soon became Associate Pastor.

It has been our pleasure to serve our Lord and Savior here at Lancaster First Assembly.

Janet has directed our girl's ministry since it began here at Lancaster First Assembly, and she has a heart for children.

We have four children; one son, Harold, and three daughters, Jennifer, Mary, and Charity. We have been blessed with seven grandchildren.

My goal for my ministry is to do whatever the Lord wants me to do in serving and reaching our community for Him.
